My name is Tom Mitchell, the 1 Minute Dog Trainer. As you may have read, I feel that I was born lucky as I grew up on my grandparent's farm in Minnesota. It was safe explore. Being an adventurous baby, I wandered off as soon as I could walk.

Many times, the only way anyone could find me was to call for our dog Sandy. They knew she was always by my side. Sandy would come bounding out of the woods or a field and they knew that I was close behind. That was my first experience with dogs!

Now, many years later, I have worked with animals all over the world. This includes Olympic horses, zoo animals, Guide Dogs for the Blind, many animal shelters and even very aggressive cats, but my expertise is ... puppies and dogs.

One day she announces to her students at a yoga class, of which I was one of, that she has to leave right on time as she recently bought a German Shepherd puppy and she has to go home to let it outside.

After the next class, I went up to her and said that he was a dog trainer and told her a little of what I did. I offered to do a trade of puppy training for yoga classes. She said okay as she was having some problems with puppy potty training and would love to learn how to housetrain her puppy.

Well, Kea Lani (that is our dog's name), and I fall in love instantly.

It is a longer story but basically every time I would be with Kea and start to leave after coming by to visit Kea would follow me and try and get in my truck. Then, after I left Kea would be sad and mope around.

Anyway few dog training sessions and a year later, Michelle and I were married on the North Shore on Oahu in Hawaii.

We now live on the Big Island have two wonderful daughters and Kea is still with us ten years later.
